    power skating)

  • Coached National medalists in singles and pairs, and have coached many skaters from Canskate level thru to Skate Canada Gold tests

  • Achieved Skate Canada Gold Figures, Gold Freeskate, Gold Dance, Competitive Class 1 skills, Junior Competitive Singles & Novice Competitive Pairs tests. Along with wife Leslee Rushton and a fine team of off-ice trainers, he was able to produce Regional, Provincial, Western Challenge, Junior National, Senior National, International competitors and champions.

  • He was fortunate to be trained by World and Olympic Hall of Fame coach Dr. Hellmut May, world renowned choreographer Frank Nowasad, and Canadian and World coach Cynthia Ullmark.

  • Larry has Skate Canada Gold level Status (C.E.P), Level 3 NCCP, Partial Level 4, Assistant and Head Coach at various Regional and Provincial Seminars. He has his Gold Figure, Gold Freeskate, Gold Dance, Junior Competitive Singles, and was a National Competitor.

  • Larry has a willingness to grow as a coach by continuous upgrading Skate Canada courses, seminars, and Professional Skaters Association Conferences.

  • In addition to coaching Larry is a master skate sharpener and retailer of skating boots and blades. He also is skilled in music editing for his students in which he has a very large library of music.

  • Furthermore, he is a CanPower Skate Coach as well as a private Power Skating Coach. Clients that he has developed under his tutelage have gone on to Major Midget, Jr. B, Jr. A, Major Jr., N.C.A.A., Pro Minor, and NHL careers.
