Choosing a Coach

The Suggested Process for Selecting a Primary Coach

This process applies to Star 1 and 2 or higher skaters. Pre-Star does not require a Primary Coach as all their group lesson time is with a Certified Coach or Program Assistant.

All JDFSC skaters have experienced working with all the club coaches prior to the Star 1/2 so the skaters and parents will have a good idea of coaching styles, personality, communication etc.

1. Discuss coaching choices with your skater.

a) Consider personality/communication/coaching styles and who your child relates best to in lessons.

b) Read the bios on the club website as this will give you a great understanding about what each club        coach has to offer your skater.

c) Make your selection from the list of club coaches as some are supplementary/specialty coaches that do not take on Primary skaters as they are not full time coaches with the club.

2. Contact your preferred choice of coach to see if the coach has availability and if this coach cannot accommodate you please contact your alternate choice.

*If new to the JDF Skating Club please feel free to contact our club admin and we will assist you with the process of meeting the club coaches.
